Arlington National Cemetery Memorial Day Ceremony and Concert
About 5,000 visitors attend each of the two major annual remembrance ceremonies in the Memorial Amphitheater. They take place on Memorial Day and Veterans Day and are sponsored by the U.S. Army Military District of Washington. At 11am, a wreath-laying ceremony and concert will be held at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in honor of Memorial Day. For complete description and information on item restrictions and shuttle service, please visit the website.
Also throughout Memorial Day Weekend visitors can also experience "Flags In" - when during an approximately three-hour period, the soldiers place flags in front of the approximately 220,000 headstones and at the bottom of about 7,000 niche rows in the cemetery's columbarium courts and the niche wall.
