Join us on October 15, 2017 @ 8am for the 3rd Annual BREAKAWAY 5K Run/Walk & Fun Run in McLean, VA! USATF certified and timed 5K course with awards for top finishers. Serving clients and the community for 16 years, BREAKAWAY Fitness promotes health and wellness for youth and adults of all fitness levels. All proceeds from the race will benefit two local non-profit organizations: Life with Cancer provides information and support, all free of charge, to those impacted by this life-changing experience; Eric Monday Foundation strives to help remove the stigma associated with mental health issues through the promotion of the sport of wrestling.

Battle of the Businesses: Recognition will be provided to the corporation with most registered participants

Timing: The 5K race will be timed by Commonwealth Race Management and will be electronically timed using the ChronoTrack B disposable tag system. Results will be available immediately after the race and will be posted on Please note that the fun run will not be timed.

Packet Pick up: Packet pickup will be on Friday, October 13 from 12pm -3pm and Saturday, October 14 from 9am-12pm. Race day registration & packet pick-up will also be available starting at 7:00am. Packet pick-up will be held at BREAKAWAY Fitness located at 1524 Springhill Road, Unit F, McLean, Va 22102 (around the backside of the warehouse building next door to green awning called Pitch Hit Run)

Awards: Top overall male and female 5K finishers and the top 5K finishers in the following categories: 9 & under, 10-19, 20- 29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70 & Over. Various prizes will be awarded after the race, so stick around following the race for the fun!

Parking: Parking is available in the parking garage at 8405 Greensboro Drive (tall building on the corner or Greensboro and Springhill). You can access our garage from Greensboro (turn into the building courtyard and then to the left for garage) or from Springhill Rd (turning onto Broad Street and entering the garage at the first entrance on left). Breakaway is on parking level 1 in STE-P110.
