Christine Lavin “Spaghettification” Album Release Concert with Special Guest Doug Mishkin
Christine Lavin is a singer/songwriter/guitarist/recording artist who has been based in New York City since 1976. She is currently working on her 23rd solo album, scheduled for release in the fall of 2017. Her 22nd album, CHRISTINE LAVIN & FRIENDS LIVE AT McCABE'S GUITAR SHOP was produced by Hillary Rollins, and includes five brilliant LA performers (Gary Stockdale, Pat Whiteman, Cynthia Carle, David Lucky, and MaryJo Mundy), and one revered British singer/songwriter, Daniel Cainer. Christine sings seven songs on this album, too.
Doug Mishkin’s ‘Woody’s Children’ is an anthem-tribute to the legacy of Woody Guthrie and all who followed him. It’s now sung around American folk circles. In 2012, Doug observed Woody’s 100th birthday by assembling a “we are the folk world” ensemble to re-record the song (www.woodyschildren). That became the focus of a sold-out celebration at the 92nd Street Y featuring many of those on the recording. On On Doug’s more recent album, ‘Climbing That Ladder,’ he was joined by Peter Yarrow (of Peter Paul & Mary) in recording “Sweet Survivor.” Doug has performed with Peter as well as Tom Chapin, Christine Lavin and Aztec Two-Step.
