Dinner for the Washingtons Tour
Ever wonder what George Washington ate for dinner? This 60-minute walking tour goes behind-the-scenes to show how food was stored, prepared and served before the era of microwaves.
Get an in-depth look at food-focused locations around the estate, including the produce-packed gardens and the mansion cellar, where food was stored. The tour concludes in Mount Vernon's greenhouse with a refreshment.
A portion of the tickets for this walking tour are offered in advance and the remainder are sold at the ticket window on the day of the tour. General admission tickets are required, and all tour participants must purchase an additional ticket for this tour. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. The tour will start promptly at the posted time; please allow at least 10-15 minutes to walk from the main entrance to the tour's starting point at the Mansion Circle.
