6/9 Earth, Wind and Fire: Live (1995)

  • We kick off our Friday Under the Stars with a performance captured from the band’s 1994 tour of Japan, one of co-founders Maurice White’s, final iconic performances.

6/16 Shine a Light (2008)

  • The Stones, Scorsese-what more can we say?  This rockumentary is a medley of concert performances, interviews and backstage footage of the infamous band

6/23 Chuck Berry  Hail, Hail Rock and Roll (1987) 

  • A salute to the rock legend that includes a 1986 concert with Keith Richards and Robert Cray.      

6/30 The Beach Boys, Doin’ it Again (2012)

  • Nothing says summer like the Beach Boys.  This behind the scenes look at the band’s 50th Anniversary tour, includes interviews with surviving members and rare recording sessions footage.

7/7 Down From the Mountain (2001)

  • A live concert by the artists from the “O brother, Where Art Thou?” soundtrack, including Ralph Stanley, John Hartform, the Fairfield Four and the Whites.

7/14 The Last Waltz (1978)

  • Martin Scorsese’s account of “The Band’s” final concert, featuring Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell and Eric Clapton.

 7/21 Song of Lahore (2015)

  • Award-winning film profiling the  Pakistani jazz ensemble Sachal as they travel to New York city to perform reinterpretations of jazz standards with Wynton Marsalis at Lincoln Center. 

7/28 No Direction Home: Bob Dylan (2005)

  • Martin Scorsese’s chronicle of Bob Dylan’s life and music between 1961 and 1966; includes rare early concert clips and interviews

8/4 Les Paul: Live in New York City (2005)

  • Guitarist Les Paul performs at the Iridium Jazz Club, where he’s joined by Steve Miller, Jose Feliciano, David Grisman and Sonya Hensley

 

8/11 Chicago in Chicago (2012)

  • The band performs live  at the Charter One pavilion with special guests the Doobie Brothers.

 

8/18 Michael Jackson’s This is It  (2009) 

  • A behind the scenes look at Michael Jackson rehearsing for the concert tour This is It, which would never come to fruition after his tragic death in 2009.
