This bus and walking tour begins and ends at one of the three American Civil War secession poll precincts in Fairfax County that voted against secession in 1861. See and hear about Vienna during the war and the large Union encampment, which occupied Ayr Hill in 1863-64. Hear stories of what life was like during those war years. Then travel the original road to Oakton (aka Flint Hill) where we explore historic Flint Hill Cemetery on foot and hear Civil War stories about some who are interred there. Wear sturdy walking shoes and dress for the weather.
