Local historian Jim Lewis leads you on this bus and walking tour focusing on the history associated with Hunter Mill Road, which was called “the main road northward” from Fairfax Court House during the American Civil War, by both the Confederate and Union forces. See numerous sites, including military encampments, marching grounds, mill locations and old roads dating back to the Civil War. Walk among some Confederate earthworks located on a ridge; including trenches, rifle pits, fox holes and artillery positions. Wear sturdy walking shoes and dress for the weather.
