During this exclusive event, the Mansion will be illuminated with massive projected illustrations by Swiss light artist Gerry Hofstetter. He and his team of experts will use a series of projectors to display a captivating array of images across the Mansion's west facade, accompanied by music.

Light Art Grand Tour USA

In 2017, Hofstetter embarked on a three-year Light Art Grand Tour across the U.S., visiting each state in the order in which they joined the Union. Over the next three years, the team will visit one site in each state, making Mount Vernon the only stop in Virginia. Through this project, Hofstetter hopes to explore history and friendship and inspire Americans through light.

The Light Art show involves images projected briefly upon the surface of the mansion. The projections pose no risk to the historic site.

Admission

Doors open at 7PM, and the event begins at 7:45PM. This event is free for members. Visit mountvernon.org/members to become a member.
