The Potomac River is one of the premier smallmouth bass fisheries in the mid-Atlantic. Take advantage of this world-class fishery and show off your skills (or just plain luck!) in our inaugural smallmouth bass catch-and -release tournament of the summer. Snap a photo of your fish and evidence of its length before releasing it back into the river. Submit your pictures to our Facebook page all summer long and become a contender for prizes for the top three biggest fish! $5 entry fee, catch and release only. Rules and Regulations:
Registration due May 18th on opening day of tournament. All contestants over age 16 must have a valid Virginia or Maryland freshwater fishing license. Virginia fishing licenses can be purchased online at the VDGIF web site. Prizes awarded to three biggest smallmouth bass based on indications of its size as measured from tail fin to mouth; photo should indicate measurement via ruler or tape. Fish must be caught in Riverbend Park's section of the Potomac River f rom boat or shore. Catch and release only!
