SkateFest / Sk8 For a Cause is back and bigger than ever. Now in its 6th year, SkateFest has raised over $25,000 for the Children's Hospital National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. Skaters making a positive contribution to the community, raising money for sick kids, awesome! Last year over 1,000 spectators and 300+ participants, from ages 5-50, took part in this annual skate competition and fundraiser.    SkateFest is the largest AM contest in the DC, Maryland, Virginia area and attracts hundreds of skaters who compete in brackets organized by age winning trophies, and prizes. On Friday and Saturday, June 22-23, 2012, participants of all ages will "Sk8 For A Cause," to raise money and awareness for the Children's Hospital National Medical Center. After completing the Sk8 For a Cause 4-checkpoint course through Wakefield Skate Park in Fairfax County, VA, skateboarders, their families and friends enjoy a day of skateboard competitions, vendors, food, demos, auctions, music and more! Families, friends and participants of all ages from VA, MD and DC will participate in this 2-day festival.
