Welcome to Mason Neck and Mount Vernon

Here are some facts about Mason Neck and Mount Vernon to help you better enjoy your Fairfax County vacations. This is one of the most historic areas found anywhere in America.  Here you'll find George Washington's Mount Vernon Estate, which is the most visited historic home in the U.S. and has consistantly remained one of the nation's most endearing attractions.  Close by to Mount Vernon you'll also find George Washington's Distillery and Gristmill which brings to life the colonial-era business of whiskey making and milling.  A bit further south is the home of another Founding Father, George Mason. Mason's Gunston Hall Plantation tells the story of Mason's brilliant vision for America as he put forth his thoughts on how a young nation should move forward.  Aside from the breathtaking history found here, nature lovers will also feel call of majestic Mason Neck State Park and Pohick Bay Regional Park with their premier access to the waterways surrounding the mighty Potomac River and their highly regarded camping facilities.
