Q:
What are the items that are vegan or can be made vegan?
A:
This is a meat place, I would not suggest a person that wants vegan go here. It would be like going to a vegan restaurant for a juicy steak.

Food - 9/10
By far the best kimbap place in NoVA. I've tried all of the varieties on the menu, and each and every one of them is, in my opinion, the ideal version of what that roll should be. Each is filled with a generous portion of meat (or cheese or kimchi, depending on your selection), and the size of the rolls themselves are massive, probably weighing over a pound each. Again, you can't go wrong with any of them, but my favorites are the spicy anchovy, donkatsu, bulgogi, and spicy tuna. Paired with the included anchovy broth, these rolls are perfect for lunch or dinner. However, this isn't to say the other dishes aren't stellar as well. The omelette rice, kalguksu, soojebi, ddukbokki, and yukejang are all excellent, and if you're craving something fried, the Yang Yam Chicken is a must try-- just make sure you ask for the sauce on the side so everything stays crispy. The only dishes that I've had that didn't blow me away were the spicy stir fried octopus and pork plates, which could be a little sweeter and less smokey.
Service - 9/10
Quick and efficient even when it comes to take-out, the service here cannot be beat. Dishes come out within minutes of ordering, hot and ready to be eaten, and when you call ahead, they always ensure you're coming to the right location, Fairfax not Centreville.
Atmosphere - 8/10
While the inside needs a little updating, the restaurant has such a cozy, homey vibe, and it fits right into the rest of the strip. With its immediate accessibility, it's excellent for solo diners and families alike.
Overall - A gem in the NoVA area with the best fully-loaded kimbap I've ever had. Over-priced sushi rolls can eat their hearts out.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Jan 20, 2024Updated review
I'm sorry, but Myung-Ga Kim Bap isn't it. People love this place for their kimbops, but our recent take-out order from this place was absolutely inedible.
We ordered the usual - So Gogi Kimbop and the Jae Yook Ssam Kimbop - both of these were not fresh. Both of the meats were old and of poor quality; the pork had a very off-putting old pork odor to it.
In addition, the kitchen isn't cleaning, sanitizing, or replacing their kitchen cloths and not wiping down their stations and cutlery properly, as the rolls we got had an old dishrag/mildew taste/odor to them.
Safe to say, our party lost our appetites and these were thrown in the trash.
No dice, Myung-Ga.

The menu here is not as extensive as the other Myung-Gas I've been to, but they still offer various kimbops and house specialties.
I was in the area for an event, so I decided get some kimbop to-go: So Gogi Kimbop (the beef was more ground beef-like, and it didn't have much marination or flavoring), and the Jae Yook Ssam Kimbop (aka Spicy Pork Kimbop; the pork wasn't spicy, even though it had the gochujang spicy tint to it; this was also bland, and the flavor was just not good). The hubs and I were both unimpressed, but the hubs did have some of the leftovers the following day, and he stated it tasted better then.
Service was welcoming and friendly. The place was definitely busy, hustling and bustling with the locals.

Great place to stop by for a quick Korean meal. We came early on a Saturday evening to dine in and the service was exceptionally fast. Soon after the waitress took our orders, we were served complimentary miso soup and banchan which consisted of kimchi and yellow daikon.
I got the combination Kimbap which included beef, tuna, and kimchi. The rolls were big and the combination flavor was great for someone who is indecisive. Note the tuna in the kimbap is canned tuna mixed with mayo like in tuna sandwiches, not sushi tuna.
While I would recommend the kimbap, I wouldn't recommend the ramen. The noodles they use are like instant noodle ramen. Go for the rice cake instead.
Overall this deli was unassuming and served great food quickly. Nice casual dining. They had many tables to dine in and offer carry out.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 1, 2024
This is my to-go place to get takeout. Whenever I want something convenient to eat, I always pick up from here. I love their beef kimbap and always appreciate the fast and friendly service especially with the soup and radish on the side.

Yum. Got takeout today. Really delicious. Combo kimbap, rabokki, soondubu, donkatsu, and jjol myeon. I took a chance on the jjol myeon after seeing it on the menu. It's kind of like a cold spicy sweet sour slaw with noodles. Glad I did, really refreshing and delicious. It's funny how this truly is a hole in the wall, tiny little place, turning out terrific food. Service was great. Definitely recommend.

Menu has translations in English, but you might want to do a little research if you're new at Korean food. I had Soojaebi and it was very good. I would definitely go back.

Kimbap is the way to go here! We all love the combination one, the pork and bulgogi ones.
We have ordered here multiple times...just never reviewed it! We drive here from Gainesville Va every time!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nov 9, 2023
I never ate at the establishment but have picked up and ordered delivery. Their kimbob is great- the other stuff on the menu is mediocre (especially the tteokbokki- it's too starchy and holy hell the level of sodium is going to make me explode).
I've tried a couple different kimbobs and I recommend the cheese. I like the rice to veggies ratio- I hate it when stores try to trick you into thinking you're getting large portions when in reality it's just allll rice. Not the case here.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Nov 20, 2023
I've been coming here for Korean comfort dishes for years now and they never disappoint. The service is always super attentive and quick. The dishes here are consistent and huge portions. And the inside is small but very cozy booth seating.
the beef sausage kimbap ($9): 5/5 and has a more filling to rice ratio. Comes with 10 pieces
mandu ramen ($13): 5/5 and they were so nice to make it less spicy for us. Noodles weren't over cooked and loved the added touch of onions!
Beef rice cake soup($13): 4/5. Huge portion and rich broth flavor. Could use more beef pieces in the dish.
Bibimbap ($12): 5/5. Great portion and had every veggies such as spinach, mushrooms, carrots, etc. usually most places don't serve all the typical ones.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 19067963Aug 7, 2023
We loved our lunch from here! We had ordered the following:
Donkatsu $15.49.
Kimchi Fried Rice. $12.99.
Bulgogi. $17.99.
Total with tax came to $51.12.
-Mrs. loved her Bulgogi. Giant tasty portion good for 2 meals! Meat was tender and marinated to bring out the best flavor.
-Ian liked his DonKatsu. It was the first time trying out Donkatsu for him. He said it was surprisingly good. He was able to polish his plate off! There was a peanut sauce salad along with this dish that the Mrs. loved! Vegetables to balance her Bulgogi!
-Kimchi Fried Rice was unique. After trying out a bunch of bland food at other restaurants, the spiciness of this dish was a welcome sight for me!
Service was as good as what it can be at an Asian restaurant. It was on point without much fanfare! The highlight of this restaurant is its food. It delivered for us!
I definitely recommend dining here!Helpful 16Thanks 2Love this 14Oh no 1
