NEW COURSES:
Our instructors have years of experience in teaching riding and horsemanship. They are passionate about teaching and are committed to helping our students achieve their goals, whatever they may be.
We offer a whole horse approach to learning how to horseback ride. All students are taught herd behavior and body language. They also learn how to use their body language to engage with the horse both on the ground and in the saddle. The benefits of working with the horse, in hand, on the ground, are immense. Ground work sets you up as leader in your horse’s eyes. It also creates a bond that simply horseback riding cannot create, and it keeps you safe while determining if your horse is mentally ready for the day’s task.
Of course, our equestrians also learn to properly ‘catch’ their horse, in a field or in a stall, lead correctly, groom and all aspects of tacking up.
We teach riding lessons from age 6 and up. All levels are welcome. We also love teaching adult equestrians and specialize in those adults returning to riding lessons after a number of years away from the sport.
20/20 Horsemanship is a riding school, owned and operated by Loretta Arey. We cater to riders who are serious and desire learning about the horse, while on his back or on the ground.
“Good Horsemanship and a less talented rider will excel compared to a talented rider with poor Horsemanship.”

If you are interested in lessons, please
contact us so we can schedule an Introductory Session. These sessions are a chance to meet the horses, the instructor, discuss interests/goals, and ask questions. Time permitting, you may also learn how to do basic grooming of the horse, along with discussions of basic herd behavior and body language, along with some interesting facts you may not know! Sessions run approx. 45 minutes . If you would like to register for classes, you can easily do so while you are there. You will receive a special offer when registering at the time of the introductory session!
Introductory sessions are not evaluations of riding skills.
Our barn is a private riding center, therefore appointments are needed. If you would like to watch a lesson, that can be arranged.
At this time we do not have any stalls available for boarding. Nor do we offer trail rides to the public
coming from 7west:
take the Hillsboro Rt 9 exit. 4H Fairgrounds.
We are right across from the fairgrounds. At the exit, stay to the left. Go 270 degrees around the roundabout, there’s another roundabout. Exit there directly into Dry Mill Rd.
After passing the W and OD trail that crosses the road, we are the second farm on the right. The driveway is hidden. I will be putting up a street number and a sign. If you would like to go for a walk the W & OD is right across the street!
