Lake Anne Plaza is pleased to announce the return of its Summer Film Festival. This year’s mini-film festival will take place the second Sunday of every month starting this year in May through September - transforming the Plaza into a free outdoor movie theatre. Colonial Market & Fair

The annual Colonial Market & Fair at Mount Vernon features dozens of America’s finest craftspeople and plenty of family fun! Fifty colonial-attired artisans demonstrate 18th-century crafts and sell traditional wares such as baskets, woodcarvings, tin and ironwork, leatherworkings, weavings, furniture, and much more. “General Washington” will be on hand overseeing the lively Revolutionary War military drills and 18th-century entertainment including music, fire-eating, sword-swallowing, puppet and magic shows, plus hearty specialty food for sale on site. Costumed interpreters will be demonstrating the 18th-century chocolate-making process using an authentic colonial recipe! This weekend only, Potomac River sightseeing cruises, courtesy of Spirit Cruises and Potomac Riverboat Company, are free of charge. The Colonial Market & Fair at Mount Vernon is included in admission.

Fall Wine Festival & Sunset Tour

Visitors learn about the successes and failures of our Founding Father’s wine endeavors, enjoy live blues music, and meet “George and Martha Washington” on the Mansion's piazza.  Guests experience an evening tour of the Washingtons’ home and are invited to visit the basement where he stored his wine. Tickets to the Fall Wine Festival & Sunset Tour tickets are $38 per person Friday and Sunday night; Saturday night $44 per person, fruit and cheese boxes are $26 each.

The 8th annual MPAartfest arrives on Sunday, October 5th, from 10 am - 5 pm in McLean Central Park (at the intersection of Dolley Madison Blvd (rt 123) and Old Dominion Drive). Fifty-two juried artists will exhibit and sell their art, transforming the park into a lively landscape of mini-galleries. Created for the community by McLean Project for the Arts, MPAartfest draws thousands of art-lovers of all ages to enjoy (and purchase) original art, listen to live music, create their own masterpiece at MPA’s Innovation Station and picnic on delicious selections from local restaurants. Parking is free and easy with shuttle buses running all day. This fun, free art festival gratefully accepts donations to help support McLean Project for the Arts' exceptional exhibitions and art education programs all year long.

ANNANDALE FALL FESTIVAL SHOP 'TIL YOU DROP: Over 100 Gift Vendors On Saturday, October 25, 2014, the Annandale Chamber of Commerce will sponsor a spectacular Fall Festival in the Safeway parking lot on Little River Turnpike. This is the largest public event in Greater Annandale attended by over 10,000 people. From 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM the Annandale Fall Festival will offer something for everyone in the family, and will be held in conjunction with the annual parade for a fun-filled day!
