ANNANDALE FALL FESTIVAL SHOP 'TIL YOU DROP: Over 100 Gift Vendors On Saturday, October 25, 2014, the Annandale Chamber of Commerce will sponsor a spectacular Fall Festival in the Safeway parking lot on Little River Turnpike. This is the largest public event in Greater Annandale attended by over 10,000 people. From 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM the Annandale Fall Festival will offer something for everyone in the family, and will be held in conjunction with the annual parade for a fun-filled day! In the Food & Entertainment Zone, Rock, County, & Jazz Bands along with costumed international dancers, will entertain. Japanese, Thai, Nigerian, Caribbean, German, Greek, Italian, and Latin cuisines will be represented along with the perennial favorites such as barbeque, Philly cheese steaks, burgers and fried chicken, funnel cakes, snow cones, home baked good, cotton candy, Kettle Corn, and Jaguar Joe Coffee. The Spooktacular was launched over 20 years ago, by members of Great Falls Friends to provide younger children with a central, convenient place in Great Falls to have fun trick or treating. It was because of their initiative that still today we have Great Falls vendors offering candy around the Village Green as well as in the Safeway shopping center at the corner of Georgetown Pike and Walker Road.

Children are encouraged to wear their best Halloween costume, experience the Haunted House, and enjoy trick or treating right in the heart of town.

Other activities include making animal masks and playing games such as pumpkin bowling and musical hay bales. At Historic Huntley, costumed period interpreters will teach visitors about historical agricultural practices. Children will enjoy a puppet show about Huntley manor's history and make a bookmark after story time. Other crafts, games, and refreshments will be available at both locations. Kids collect charms as they visit each activity station, and once they collect them all they earn a bigger prize. Pre-registration isn't necessary, so just show up and have fun!

For more than 12 years the Bull Run Festival of Lights at Bull Run Regional Park has drawn thousands of visitors from hundreds of miles away to Centreville, Virginia, just outside Washington, DC. This year's festival opens November 19th and runs through January 4th.  The Bull Run Festival of Lights is held each year to celebrate the winter holiday season. The event sees more than 30,000 cars each season, and over 130,000 people! Bull Run Festival of Lights is located just off of Interstate 66 in Centreville, on Rt. 29 (Lee Highway), just 3 miles from historic Manassas Battlefield Park.

The Portal Wreath signifying the official start of the beautiful Bull Run Festival of Lights, this display has been part of the show since 2006. Each year a new ornament representing a display in the show will be added to this collection, and the portal wreath is the first in the series.

Reston Holidays are Here Celebration!

Discover a day of community, camaraderie, charity and cheer to kick off the holiday season! Cheer on kids of all ages as they "run as fast as they can!" in the Gingerbread Man Mile and Tot Trot, and if mom and dad want to do some racing of their own stores open at 8 am! Then snag some snacks and a seat for the Reston Holiday Parade at 11 am.

After Santa gives his final farewell to parade spectators, he is available for visits and photos until 4:30pm - we recommend stopping by after you grab lunch, as the line is much shorter. Make your way around the ice, mark a few items off the list, marvel at the Hyatt Gingerbread Village in their lobby, do a bit of people-watching.

Then at 5 pm, wander over to Fountain Square to see "Santa's Frosty Follies," a performance by Metropolitan School of the Arts, and stay for the magic and merriment of the Tree Lighting & Sing Along at 6 pm. Finally, climb aboard a horse-drawn carriage to end a day to remember!

While you go home with great memories, some local non-profits will go home with a smile too! The race benefits Neediest Kids, photos benefit SLHS Choir, and carriage rides benefit Volunteer Fairfax! Thanks for the support!
