On September 24, 1991 Nirvana released “Nevermind” (Smells Like Teen Spirit, In Bloom, Lithium) , an instant classic that put the groundwork for the 90s alternative rock sound. On this same day the Red Hot Chili Peppers released “Blood Sugar Sex Magik” (Under The Bridge, Give It Away, Suck My Kiss) – an album that put RHCP on the map. These records have a combined sales of 43 million worldwide.
