Clive Carroll & Lily Neill
Two world-class musicians—harpist Lily Neill and guitarist Clive Carroll—come together for a tour de force performance of duets, with sparks flying across 36 strings! Don’t miss this rare chance to hear them perform together!
Between them, harpist Lily Neill and guitarist Clive Carroll have performed around the world, from North America to the Far East and everywhere in between. Primarily known as soloists, their musical union extends from their love of a vast array of musical styles—from eat-your-heart-out blues, to fiery dances from Eastern Europe, beguiling Irish airs, jaunty Ragtime numbers, and Elizabethan lute classics. To their duo they bring all the intensity of their solo performances and more, conjuring a genre-bending orchestra from two modest plucked-string instruments.
American-born Lily Neill has been singled out for her “perfect technique and unbridled emotion” (Germany’s Frankenpost), with Irish Music Magazine crowning her, “…part of the new Harp revolution extolling aspects of harp music never previously heard”. Lily began playing concerts as a child, performing for then-President Bill Clinton and alongside Irish super-group “The Chieftains”. Her subsequent tours have brought her everywhere from Toronto to Tatarstan, and her collaborations range from rock n’ roll to poetry, dance, and film scores.
English guitar phenomenon Clive Carroll is known for his dazzling compositions, versatility, and unparalleled technical virtuosity. He has toured and worked with guitar greats such as John Williams, Tommy Emmanuel, Xuefei Yang, Ralph Towner, and John Renbourn—as well as pop icon, Madonna! Acoustic Guitar Magazine calls him, “Probably the best and most original young acoustic guitarist/composer in Britain”. Clive is included in Total Guitar Magazine’s Top 10 Best Acoustic Guitarists of All-Time.
