featuring the 2019 Fairfax County All-Stars Youth Orchestra

The FSO salutes the next generation of classical musicians with a special performance by the Fairfax County All-Stars Youth Orchestra playing side-by-side with the Fairfax Symphony.  Launched in 2017, this new FSO education initiative brings together the brightest young musicians from across Fairfax County for a rare opportunity to perform side-by-side with the FSO.  These talented musicians, selected through a competitive audition process, receive personalized mentoring and coaching from FSO musicians leading up to the collaborative concert and are Fairfax County's dynamic music ambassadors.

Jonathan Leshnoff is one of the most performed living American composers and his symphony works are in constant demand by orchestras across the country.  The FSO is excited to launch an artistic collaboration with him this season by performing one of his most popular orchestral pieces "Starburst."

Join Music Director Christopher Zimmerman and guest artists at 7pm on stage for a pre-concert discussion.
