PROGRAM
Mozart: Clarinet Concerto
                Ismail Lumanovski, clarinet

Gershwin: Preludes for Clarinet and Strings

Eryilmaz: Concerto for Solo Wind Instrument, Piano, Percussion, Strings and Imaginery Folk Dancers

Eryilmaz: Dances of the Yogurt Maker

The extraordinary clarinetist Ismail Lumanovski is a musical force of passion and dynamic virtuosity.  Already of international distinction, Lumanovski has been called a “brilliant, fearless young clarinetist” by the New York Times.  Blending the fiery spirit of folk music with the discipline of classical music, he has launched a major career as a soloist in both classical and Balkan styles as his performances throughout the world have received uproarious critical acclaim.

Combine the fluid grace of the Bowen McCauley Dance Company, hailed by the Washington Post as “Metro DC’s premier contemporary dance company,” and the kinetic energy of composer Erberk Eryilmaz’s music and you get an unforgettable evening of sounds and sights.

Join Music Director Christopher Zimmerman and guest artists at 7pm on stage for a pre-concert discussion.
