Join us on February 2 at 12 PM and on Friday February 21 at 7 PM for our Hand Knitting Class! Enjoy a glass of wine as you learn how to make those impossibly soft, huge blankets that are all the rage on social media these days! Bring your own supplies, and we'll treat you to a glass of wine and personalized instruction on how to hand-knit a luxuriously soft and warm blanket that will keep you warm and cozy all winter long in this two-hour class at the winery. No needles necessary!

What you'll receive:
One glass of wine
Personalized and written instructions to take home

You must bring your own yarn! Bringing your own yarn lets you choose exactly what color and texture you want for your blanket and makes it easy for you to make a blanket as big as you want!

What kind of yarn do I need?
Look for any yarn that is "SIZE 7, GIANT/JUMBO" or that has the words "Chunky" or "Blanket" in the name. Wool Roving (unfinished/unspun yarn that comes in thick, rope-like strands) also works very well.

How much yarn do I need?
How many balls/skeins you bring is up to you, depending on the size of the blanket you want to make. Here are some suggested quantities based on the size of blanket you think you want to make:
Baby Blanket: 1-2
Small Lap Blanket: 2-3
Full-Size Adult Blanket: 5 or more
*the sample in our photo was made with two skeins of Bernat Blanket Big Yarn

Here are some yarns we recommend, but anything similar to these will work well:
Bernat Blanket Big Yarn from Michael's (the yarn used to knit the sample blanket in the photo)
QICI Wool Roving from Amazon
Shep's Wool Merino Wool Top Roving from Amazon
ChrisNKris Super Chunky Knit Chenille Yarn from Etsy
Goldenmyth Fashion Arm Knitting Chunky Yarn from Etsy

Questions about your yarn or the class? E-mail the instructor, Jennifer van der Kleut (our wine club manager!) at:  jvanderkleut@wineryatbullrun.com
