    Play For A Purpose - Powered by The St. James - A Charity Hockey event for Players Against Hate

Play for a Purpose - Powered by the St. James will take play March 21, 2020 at 2pm in Springfield, VA.

The event will include raffles, a silent auction and the following main events:

-Ice hockey game featuring local celebrities and hockey coaches.

-Post game acoustic performance by Chris #2 (Anti-Flag)

All proceeds of this event will benefit Players Against Hate, a 501c3 organization..

Players against hate is determined to increase awareness and stop racism and name-calling by youth athletes, their teams and coaches, their families, and spectators.

The goals of Players Against Hate are:

1) Develop educational materials against hate to be used to teach players, coaches, officials, sports organizations, and spectators that hate has no place on the bench, in the game, or in the stands.

2) Sponsor scholarships with monies raised by Players Against Hate to support athletes of color who want to play sports that have been traditionally less diverse.

3) Grow the movement beyond hockey to other youth sports where hate impacts the athletes.
