A family-friendly street festival with food trucks, restaurants, an aerial dance performance, beer garden, live entertainment, children's programming, best-dressed pet contest, chili cook-off, police helicopter, photo booth, vendors.

The Taste of Annandale 5K is Oct. 5, 9:30 a.m., beginning in the Kmart parking lot on John Marr Drive. The course heads along Columbia Pike, through the trails in Mason District Park, and ends up back at the Kmart parking lot. There will be awards for the top three males and females overall and for the fastest runners in several age categories. The awards will be presented on the stage at the Taste of Annandale. Registration for the 5K is $25 ($15 for runners 14 and younger) and will increase after Sept. 15.
