Highlighting the Contributions of Military Women of Color throughout History
March 6, 2021 – Arlington, VA – The Women In Military Service For America Memorial Foundation (WIMSA), in partnership with Comcast NBCUniversal, announces the opening of a new exhibit. “The Color of Freedom: Honoring the Diversity of America’s Servicemomen,” was made possible by Comcast NBCUniversal Military & Veteran Affairs. “This exhibit is a perfect example of the extraordinary, yet untold story of the thousands of women of color who for decades upon decades have made remarkable contributions to our military and to America,” says Phyllis Wilson, President at the WIMSA Foundation. “The array of stories of determination and triumph, despite challenges of race and gender, are truly inspirational.”
“Color of Freedom” will be open to the public Monday-Saturday from 9:00am to 5:00pm and Sundays from 12:00pm to 5:00pm. Free tickets to the Military Women’s Memorial can be reserved on Eventbrite.
