Meeting Facilities

The headquarters of the American Horticultural Society, located between Old Town Alexandria and Mount Vernon, overlooks the Potomac River and was one of George Washington's original properties. River Farm is comprised of 25 acres of gardens and grounds. The Estate House was remodeled in the early 20th century and the property is described as a "gentleman's estate." Large porches offer panoramic views of the Potomac River & gardens. Indoor and outdoor spaces accommodate 50-160 seated guests and up to 200 for standing events. River Farm is a place of natural year-round beauty and a perfect showcase for your event any time of year. At River Farm you'll have access to not only the grounds, but inside the Estate House, as well. (Weekend afternoon/evening events have PRIVATE ACCESS of the property!) Our Ballroom and Parlor are ideal for indoor events, and also work well in conjunction with our Tented Patio in warm weather. Please call us for creative ideas on how to make your event unique.
