In celebration of the U.S. Army’s 250th birthday in June, the National Museum of the United States Army is hosting a series of Revolutionary War-themed programs, a symposium and unveiling a powerful new exhibit that honors the legacy and valor of those who fought to secure the independence that the Founding Fathers declared.

Located in Fairfax County, Virginia, the Museum’s expansive 185,000-square-foot facility is situated on publicly accessible 84-acre site near Fort Belvoir.  This national landmark is dedicated to honoring the sacrifices, accomplishments, and commitment of American Soldiers. As the first comprehensive national museum to capture and interpret 250 years of Army history, it vividly brings to life the experiences of war and peace as told through the eyes of individual Soldiers.

As the nation approaches America 250, the National Army Museum invites county residents, neighbors, and friends to the debut of its landmark exhibition, “CALL TO Arms: The Soldier and the Revolutionary War.  Opening weekend on June 7-8 will include special Revolutionary War-themed and family-friendly events such as powder horn carving demonstrations, uniform and equipment displays, and story times.
