Limited edition wines, a countywide collaboration beer, and upcoming historic bourbon releases mark milestone celebration


Fairfax County, VA – April 14, 2026 – As the nation commemorates the 250th anniversary of the United States throughout 2026, Fairfax County is raising a glass to history with the debut of exclusive, limited-edition craft beverages created specially for this milestone celebration.

From commemorative wines unveiled at Fairfax County’s two picturesque vineyards to a first-of-its-kind collaboration beer crafted by local breweries—and several exclusive upcoming distilled spirit releases from the Fairfax County home of George Washington—these one-time offerings invite visitors and locals alike to celebrate America’s semiquincentennial in a place where history was made and continues to flourish.

Located just west of Washington, D.C., Fairfax County is home to several iconic landmarks, including George Washington’s Mount Vernon, making it one of the most meaningful destinations in the country to begin America’s 250th anniversary celebrations. Here’s what to know about these upcoming craft beverage releases:

 

250 Wine - FXVA Wineries - RVEHistoric 250th Wines Debut April 19 at Both Fairfax County Vineyards

On Sunday, April 19, Fairfax County’s two wineries will unveil their official commemorative wines during joint events for the 250th anniversary. Paradise Springs Winery, based in Clifton, will release “250,” a signature red blend, and The Winery at Bull Run, based in Centreville, will release “Independence,” a signature white blend. Both wines were created in partnership with the Fairfax County America’s 250th Commission.

Each vineyard will host special events featuring ceremonial toasts and remarks from George Washington himself, both vineyard’s winemakers, and Fairfax County officials. Tickets are available for sale for $20 per event and include tastings of both wines and one complimentary glass of either, plus the opportunity to purchase these limited-edition bottles before they’re gone!

“FAIRFAX 250” Collaboration Beer Launches Countywide

Fairfax County BreweriesFairfax County’s craft beer scene is also joining the celebration with the release of “FAIRFAX 250,” the official signature beer of the County’s America’s 250 commemoration, also in partnership with the Fairfax County 250th Commission.

This limited-edition Hazy IPA is designed to be approachable and reflective of the County’s diversity, featuring hops sourced from around the world. A true collaboration beer, the beverage was jointly created by the brewmasters at Bike Lane Brewing & Café, Bunnyman Brewing, Fair Winds Brewing Co., G34.3 Brewing Co., Hawkley Brewing, Lake Anne Brew House, Ono Brewing Co., and Settle Down Easy Brewing. The can art will feature four unique designs that capture the people, places, and pints that shape Fairfax County’s tourism experiences.

The beer will be released on Memorial Day weekend and will be available at participating taprooms throughout the County while supplies last. A major public release event and brewfest will follow in mid-June at Bunnyman Brewing Co. in Chantilly.

 

George Washington’s Mount Vernon Launches Exclusive Bourbons, Whiskey

Mount Vernon DistilleryAdding to the excitement, George Washington’s Mount Vernon will debut a series of limited-edition whiskey releases in 2026 as part of America’s 250th celebration.

Highlights include the inaugural Washington’s Generals Series, a Premium Rye Whiskey featuring collectible label art; Washington’s Bourbon Whiskey, the first bourbon produced at Mount Vernon since Washington’s time; and the ultra-limited Spirit of ’76 Single Barrel Cask Strength Bourbon Whiskey, expected to debut around July 4 with only 120–170 bottles available.

Additional small-batch releases are planned throughout the year, offering visitors a rare opportunity to experience Mount Vernon’s historic distilling legacy in a new way.
