Fairfax County, VA - September 10, 2010 - Cooler temperatures, shorter days, changing leaves and football are all signs that summer is coming to an end. But that doesn't mean the festivities are slowing down at all! Fall is full of fun events in communities and at attractions all across Fairfax County and the surrounding National Capital Region. 2nd Annual Art, Wine & All That Jazz Festival at The Workhouse Arts Center - October 2, 2010

Art, Wine & All That Jazz welcomes back a few Jazz favorites along with a range of new and exciting talent! Visitors will experience gourmet samplings from local restaurants paired with the wines selected by the participating wineries. As guests wander the Workhouse's expansive grounds between performances, they can visit booths in the Marketplace, or interact with more than 125 artists while they work. Oktoberfest Reston & Carnival - October 8 - 10, 2010

Woodlawn's Inaugural Bourbon & Oyster Event - November 6, 2010

Air & Scare at the Smithsonian's National Air & Space Museum Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center October 23, 2010

Discover the spooky side of air and space at the 6th annual Air & Scare event! Arrive in costume for safe indoor trick-or-treating. Participate in creepy crafts, spooky science experiments, and other Halloweenthemed activities. 20th Annual Reston Holiday Parade & Holiday Tree Lighting in Reston - November 26, 2010

See huge Macy's-style balloons, marching bands, dancers, antique cars, community groups, costumed characters, and more, welcoming the arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus in a horse-drawn carriage. The parade winds its way down Market Street starting at 11 am. The Clauses make a second appearance in Fountain Square that evening at 6 pm to magically light up Reston Town Center and the holiday tree, followed by a chorus of traditional holiday music led by the Reston Chorale and a brass quintet. www.restontowncenter.com

Great Falls Park

Enjoy the breath-taking vistas as Virginia's trees make their change to a vibrant mix of red, gold and orange at Great Falls National Park where the Potomac River builds up speed and force as it falls over a series of steep, jagged rocks and flows through the narrow Mather Gorge. www.nps.gov/grfa

Skyline Drive at Shenandoah National Park

Fairfax County is also a short day trip from the scenic Shenandoah National Park and its famous Skyline Drive. Stop along the way to enjoy the award-winning wineries of Virginia wine country, or pick your own apples at one of the many groves along the highway. www.nps.gov/shen
