Fairfax County, VA - April 27, 2010 - Visit Fairfax (www.fxva.com) was the big winner at the second annual Virgo Travel & Tourism Awards dinner at the Hyatt Fair Lakes in Fairfax, Virginia. The tourism organization took home three out of the 13 awards the Virginia Association of Convention and Visitors Bureaus (VACVB) handed out to "individuals, groups, businesses and destination marketing organizations that significantly contribute to the Commonwealth of Virginia's economy through tourism promotion and development."
Visit Fairfax received Virgo Awards for:
- Sales Manager/Team of the Year for efforts to bring the World Police and Fire Games to Fairfax County in 2015
- Advertising & Promotions: Online and eMarketing for ongoing eNewsletter campaign that promotes Fairfax County to several key target audiences (Civil War, Epicurean, General Interest)
- Public Relations Initiative for the "Are You Free Saturday Night?" winter promotion
Awards were given to programs that were produced during the 2009 calendar year to promote travel within and to the Commonwealth of Virginia.
