June is annually recognized as LGBTQIA+ Pride Month in the United States to honor the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in Manhattan. In celebration of Pride, Fairfax County features many vibrant and inclusive festivities happening all month.
Here’s your guide to everything Pride in Fairfax County (plus Capital Pride in Washington, DC!).
Reston Pride
📍 Lake Anne Plaza | 📆 June 1, 2024
Reston Pride’s annual Festival at Lake Anne Plaza kicks off Pride Month in a huge way. This year's theme is SHINE! and the festival will feature performances by local musicians and artists, dozens of vendors, speakers, and family-friendly festivities – all along beautiful Lake Anne. "Doors" open at 12pm.
Mosaic Pride Festival & Parade

Join Mosaic District for a fun day of events and activities, including the Pride Parade, which runs the length of District Ave. Plus, on the main stage, find performances by drag queens, dance performers, story time for kids, and live music.
Fairfax Pride
📍 Old Town Hall | 📆 June 1, 2024
The City of Fairfax and George Mason University kicks off Pride Month with an event at Old Town Hall, featuring children’s activities, speakers, and area vendors. Other dates/special events to keep in mind during Fairfax's Pride Month celebrations include:

Pride Month Poetry Reading

Featuring some of the region’s most prominent LGBTQ+ poets, and as part of Fairfax County's Poetry in the Parks series with Fairfax Poet Laureate Danielle Badra, this reading lifts-up a variety of voices and experiences to honor the rich legacy and contributions of poets and poetry in the queer community. Poets include Danielle Badra, Gowri Koneswaran, and Brian Teare.
"Mama, I'm a Big Girl Now" - The Three Leading Ladies of Hairspray!
📍 The Alden Theatre | 📆 June 8, 2024
The 20th anniversary of the original Broadway musical “Hairspray” is here! Reunited for the first time ever... The original Tracy, Penny and Amber—Marissa Jaret Winokur, Kerry Butler and Laura Bell Bundy - will grace The Alden stage on June 8 for a special retrospect.
Capital Pride Parade & Pride Festival and Concert
📍 Washington, DC | 📆 June 8-9, 2024
Washington DC’s annual Capital Pride celebrations are traveled to far and wide. Join the festive and colorful celebration on Saturday for the Pride Parade and jam out to Ava Max and Billy Porter (among others) at the Pride Festival and Concert on Sunday. Also – save the date for International WorldPride, which DC will host in 2025!
Herndon Pride
📍 Arts Herndon Lawn | 📆 June 8, 2024
The first ever Herndon PRIDE event will be held on Saturday, June 8 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Arts Herndon Lawn. Join in for a family-friendly event that will include music, food trucks, and more!
Celebrate Pride Tea Party & Drag Bingo

Celebrate Pride Month with a sparkling afternoon tea party unlike any other! Join Elden Street Tea Shop at its new location at Lake Anne Plaza for an extravaganza of delicious treats, fabulous drag, and outrageous BINGO fun! A portion of all proceeds goes directly to support Reston Pride.
Out & About Festival
📍 Wolf Trap | 📆 June 22, 2024
Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts celebrates Pride Month with its second annual, multi-stage Out & About Festival of music and nature headlined by Brittany Howard (of Alabama Shakes) in America's only National Park for the Performing Arts on June 22. Out & About celebrates pride by spotlighting LBGTQ+ artists and allies who live out loud. There will be additional performances at the Children's Theatre-in-the-Woods.
Double Header Drag Brunch
📍 Makers Union Pub for the People | 📆 June 17 & June 22, 2024
Celebrate PRIDE at the Reston location of this popular community gathering spot. On June 17, have a Lady Gaga Kiki while you indulge in dinner and themed cocktails and a DJ spins hits from the singer. Then on June 22, attend the Double Header Drag Brunch with a live DJ and lots of fabulous fun. All month long, you can enjoy a specialty cocktail of Pride Punch, made with Tito's vodka, pineapple, lemon, simple syrup, cranberry, and peaflower tea. For every Pride Punch sold, Maker's Union will donate $1 to Capital Pride DC.
Drag Bingo

Celebrate Pride at The Perch with a night of fun, music, drinks, and bingo! Crimsyn & Logan Stone will lead a fun-filled Drag Bingo at Starr Hill Biergarten. This is a free event and is open to the whole family, but plan to arrive early!
Pride Night Out
📍 Springfield Town Center | 📆 June 26, 2024
This family-friendly evening event at Springfield Town Center benefits Safe Space NOVA and will include live music, community vendors, a Pride Photobooth, and other family-friendly activities including glitter tattoos and face painting, friendship bracelet and river rock painting stations, and a charity raffle.

- Fairfax County Public Libraries are offering various events throughout the month, like Teen Craft Club Pride Edition (June 1), Pride Button Making (June 14), Pride Trivia Night (June 17 & 25) and more. Find those activities and event info here.
- LOVEwork Photo Ops - Visit the Pride-themed LOVE letters at Tysons Corner Center and snap a pic with your loved ones, a selfie, or with your shopping BFF! Tag @shoptysons and #LoveTysons on social media. At Springfield Town Center, you can snap a photo of the rainbow LOVE letters by the front entrance. Tag @springfieldtwnctr for a chance to be featured on their socials.
- PRIDE Film Series - Celebrate PRIDE Month at the Angelika Film Center & Cafe at Mosaic District every Tuesday in June. June 4 - But I'm a Cheerleader / June 11 - My Own Private Idaho / June 18 - The Watermelon Woman / June 25 - Paris is Burning. Find more info here.
- Caboose Tavern is offering two unique handcrafted cocktails as well as a delicious mocktail for Pride Month. At its sister location, Caboose Commons, you can also find a specialty cocktail, "In June, We Drink Pink" and a special "Yss Queen" ice cream sandwich. A portion of all proceeds will be donated to INOVA Pride Clinics Patients Assistance Fund. Find unique Pride merchandise at both locations as well.
