June is annually recognized as LGBTQIA+ Pride Month in the United States to honor the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in Manhattan. In celebration of Pride, Fairfax County features many vibrant and inclusive festivities happening all month.

Here’s your guide to everything Pride in Fairfax County (plus WorldPride 2025 in nearby Washington, DC!).

 

World Pride

International WorldPride has arrived! Be a part of history and join the global LGBTQIA+ community in celebrating this landmark event. Enjoy a lineup of dynamic festivities, including thrilling concerts by acclaimed artists like Shakira, Khalid and Doechii. Soak in the rich, diverse atmosphere of Washington, DC, and discover why the capital region stands as one of the world’s most vibrant LGBTQIA+ hubs.

 

Reston Pride

Reston Pride - LGBT - Lake Anne Plaza

Reston Pride’s annual Festival at Lake Anne Plaza kicks off Pride Month in a huge way. This year’s theme, RISE UP! sets the tone for a vibrant weekend. New to the festivities this year is the Rising Voices Community Concert on May 31 at 7 PM, featuring performances by local musicians and artists honoring and uplifting the LGBTQIA+ community in the greater Reston area. The main festival takes place on June 1, showcasing dozens of vendors, speakers, and family-friendly festivities – all along beautiful Lake Anne.

 

Mosaic Pride Festival & Parade

Join Mosaic District for a fun day of events and activities, including the Pride Parade, which runs the length of District Ave. Plus, on the main stage, find performances by drag queens, dance performers, story time for kids, and live music

 

Pride Pawty

This is where pups and Pride come together for an unforgettable celebration! The Boro in Tysons is throwing the ultimate "pawty" complete with a rainbow dog bone bar, doggy caricature artists, glitter tattoos, an agility course for your superstar pups, a bandana decorating station, vibrant rainbow swag, and live music.

Fairfax Pride

📆 Starting May 27, 2025

Fairfax City Pride LogoThe City of Fairfax and George Mason University kick off Pride Month with an event at Old Town Hall, featuring children’s activities, speakers, and area vendors. Other dates/special events to keep in mind during Fairfax's Pride Month celebrations include:

  • May 27: Pride Proclamation
  • June 7: Fairfax Pride Launch Event
  • June 23: FUNDAY MONDAY

Herndon Pride

📍 Arts Herndon Lawn 
📆 May 24, 2025

Arts Herndon will be hosting the second annual Herndon PRIDE on Saturday, May 24, from 12 PM to 5 PM at the ArtsHerndon Lawn. Join in for a family-friendly event that will include music, food trucks, and more!

 

Other Activities & Promotions​

Rainbow cake

  • Fairfax County Public Libraries are offering various events throughout the month, like Pride Bracelets (June 20), Flower Crown Fun (June 21), Teen Pride DIY: Pride Pins and Tote Bags (June 24), and more. Find those activities and event info here.
  • LOVEwork Photo Ops - Visit the Pride-themed LOVE letters at Tysons Corner Center and snap a pic with your loved ones, a selfie, or with your shopping BFF! Tag @shoptysons and #LoveTysons on social media. At Springfield Town Center, you can snap a photo of the rainbow LOVE letters by the front entrance. Tag @springfieldtwnctr for a chance to be featured on their socials. Find even more LOVE letters in Fairfax County here.
  • Tatte Bakery and Cafe has something extra sweet baking in the oven. The rainbow Pride Cake is back! Available through 6/30, this almond cake features rich layers of chocolate, and best of all, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to SMYAL to support and empower LGBTQ+ youth.
