Updated for 2026

You've likely heard of the phrase 'Dry January,' where more and more people aim to abstain from alcohol for the month as a way to reset their bodies and improve their overall wellness. As more and more individuals and businesses embrace this trend, the mocktail - a non-alcoholic beverage offering just as much flavor and satisfaction as its boozy counterparts - has become more widely available on menus across the nation.

In Fairfax County, many local restaurants are offering creative and delicious mocktail options, some available year-round and others tailored to the changing seasons. Here are 9 places to grab a specialty mocktail the next time you're craving a little restorative balance.

Davio's Italian Steakhouse
📍Reston

Davio's is known for its prime steaks, handcrafted pastas, and fun cooking classes/events, so what better way to round out the Dry January season than with a mocktail or two! While you're there, try out a divine four-course dinner that expertly aligns the restaurant's innovative meals with handcrafted, non-alcoholic beverages. Looking for guidance on the perfect pairings - no worries - the staff is happy to help! Check out their drink menu here.

Hot Tip: Davio's has a long list of seasonal mocktails! This season's winter lineup includes: Davio’s Peppermint Espresso Mocktini (Lyre’s Non-Alcoholic Coffee Originale, FLUÈRE Spiced Cane Dark Roast Espresso, Peppermint Cream) and the Blood Orange Limoncello Spritz (Pallini Limonzero, Kylie Minogue Alcohol-Removed Sparkling Rosé Simple, Blood Orange, Lemon).

Pisco y Nazca Ceviche Gastrobar's Reston location adds a modern twist to traditional Peruvian cuisine with bold tastes and great dishes. Adding to its appeal are tropical mocktails perfect for social outings or solo vibes. Rich and vibrant with flavor, the Piña Colada mocktail is a tasty blend of smooth coconut cream, sweet pineapple purée, and luscious black cherry. With only a few locations across the DMV area, visiting their website for a full look at their mocktail menu is highly encouraged!

Hot Tip: While you're at the Reston Town Center during Dry January, also be sure to stop by CitySwing! This woman-owned golf lounge offers golf simulators and games that promises to be a "swinging" good time. PLUS during January, CitySwing is offering 10% off all mocktails!

SYN Rooftop Bar & Lounge

📍Reston

SYN Rooftop Bar & Lounge serves up inventive mocktails that are thoughtfully crafted to deliver unique taste experiences at its Reston rooftop space. SYN's menu features some stellar beverages; specifically, their Perfect Pear mocktail, which is sweet, juicy, and sparkling. It infuses Asian pear juice with ginger, rosemary, honey, and brown sugar. Then the mixture is delightfully topped with soda water for a balanced spritz of fizz. Other amazing mocktail options include the Coquito, made from a blend of coconut milks and sweetened with condensed milk, cinnamon, and vanilla; and The Cherry Bomb, made from an apple cider reduction, tropical fruit juices, and aquafaba. This gem has plenty more elevated mocktails for you to discover, and we're sure they're worth shouting from the rooftop about!

Last time we checked, tacos go better with a freshly made cocktail or mocktail. Stop by one of these two Fairfax County locations - bartaco in Merrifield and bartaco in Reston - for mouthwatering concoctions, like the Berry Colada, which combines raspberry, coconut, pineapple, orange, and lime into one bright and cheery mixture. You can also choose from one of the house-made aguas frescas (honeydew, grapefruit ginger, pomegranate limonada, or a Nojito!)

Neutral Ground Bar + Kitchen in McLean has been garnering a ton of buzz for its seasonal menu and both cocktail AND mocktail offerings. Whether you dine for brunch, lunch, or dinner, be sure to keep a lookout for mocktail favorites, including Spiced Tide, an aromatic beverage made using lemon, fall mulling syrup, seedlip spice, and ginger beer. For those with “Where there is a will. There’s a Rosé” energy, we highly recommend the Desert Rose (pictured): a magnificent libation made of orange juice, hibiscus syrup, spice syrup, and Wolffer Estate non-alcoholic sparkling rosé!

Ocean Paradise
📍Fairfax

Family-owned Ocean Paradise Restaurant, centrally located in Fairfax just off Interstate 66, has a large menu of innovative seafood dishes. But this winter, the Diner's Choice restaurant is also offering some fun sparkling mocktails, including the HONEY - MIEL, which combines lime, salted honey syrup, cardamom bitters, sparkling water, and lemon-lime soda. Their complete list of cocktails and mocktails can be found here, and we can't wait for your taste buds to experience the unexpected!

Wildfire, located at Tysons Galleria, is a win-win for steaks, chops, and other delights - it's a classic 1940s-style dining experience that the whole family will love. But this winter, pair that parmesan-crusted steak with a Blackberry Kentucky Mule for a nice balance. Combining Lyre's American Malt Spirit and Blackberry syrup, with a bit of lime juice and Ginger Beer, it's a refreshing take on the classic mule!

Wren, located at The Watermark Hotel in Tysons, has an extensive cocktail list. But this winter, don't sleep on the restaurant and lounge's lineup of mocktails. For a limited time, guests can try the Kinsei, a non-alcoholic cinnamon whiskey mixed with Pathfinder, sencha honey syrup, and club soda, served in a modern martini coupe. One more mocktail to wet your whistle: Little Birdie Told Me features seedlip non-alcoholic gin with blueberry, lavender, yuzu, and lemonade.

Hot tip: Before you leave The Watermark Hotel, be sure to ask around about the hotel's secretive new Naisho Room, a speakeasy-style space with small bites, cocktails, and zero-proof drinks - topped off with a view.

The Ritz-Carlton, Tysons Corner
📍Tysons

The Ritz-Carlton, Tysons Corner's staple restaurant ENTYSE, is perfect for date nights, afternoon tea, or a delicious meal paired with local jazz music. But if you want to go without the buzz, consider ordering the Zen Margarita, which pairs celery juice and lime juice with some heavenly slices of jalapeño and cucumber, then topped off with a jalapeno and dehydrated lime wedge. You'll feel just refreshed enough that you'll want to extend that feeling with a trip to the Ritz-Carlton Spa
