Spring is in full swing in the Capital Region, and with it comes the vibrant return of festival season. This May, Fairfax County offers wine lovers plenty to raise a glass to, as several wine-focused festivals return for a sensational start to the summer months.

Enjoy festivals at historic estates, rolling vineyard hills, or in the setting amongst small picturesque towns. Here are three you won’t want to miss this month.

Raise a Glass to America 250 amid scenic views of the Potomac River while relaxing on the East Lawn of President George Washington’s home at the popular Mount Vernon Spring Wine Festival. A ticket gets you unlimited samples from Virginia’s finest wineries, including Fairfax County’s very own two vineyards, and a commemorative wine glass to mark the United States Semiquincentennial. Listen to live music by The Hula Monsters, meet General Washington, and get an exclusive peek at the estate’s historic area after hours!

🍷Forks, Corks, and Kegs
May 16, 2026

Join St. Andrew the Apostle School PTO for the seventh annual Forks, Corks, & Kegs on Saturday, May 16, 2026. This annual festival in Clifton includes a unique tasting featuring local breweries, wineries, and food trucks, a live band, and a silent auction and raffles. Tickets are for all-you-can-eat and drink, plus a tasting glass.

Mark your calendars for The Winery at Bull Run's Spring Wine Festival. Festival-goers will not only get access to a diverse selection of wines from regional wineries and beer samples from Fairfax County brewery Ono Brewing Co., but they can also enjoy daily live music performances, an artisan vendor market, and gourmet offerings from a variety of food trucks. This might be the perfect time to try “Independence,” the winery's extremely limited-edition signature white wine celebrating America 250.
